T e r m i n a l  S o u n d  S y s t e m  -  Last Night I Dreamed of Armageddon [HIV.13]

»  Terminal Sound System returns to Hive with an amazing new album. Somewhere in the massive unfolding ambience, you realize that you're listening to the end of the world. Not a malevolent armageddon, but an intimate, warm apocalypse. This is the sound of solitude, comforting in its permanence and grandeur, a deeply personal reflection on a world no longer there.

This is the distillate of every fear and wonder at the end of things.

The beats scatter in every direction, broken beyond repair and limping or careening towards an inevitable grinding stop. Microsampled clicks and pops, tiny churning and whirring devices, and warm, solitary ambient atmospheres document the last seconds to tick by before a great comforting empty silence blankets the world.

P h o t o p h o b  -  Y o u r  M a j e s t y  M a c h i n e [HIV.14]

»  There is no greater love than the love of an automaton for its human.

Your Majesty Machine explores the connectivity between our ubiquitous modern machinery and our organic selves. Melodic sci-fi glitch and crunchy rhythms tell the binary tale of forbidden interfacing - sensory mechanics on soft skin, the reticulated optics that meet the aching gaze...

Flawlessly executed, Photophob have created a intelligent and emotional album that is equally appealing in the bedroom as it is on the dancefloor. This debut album will quickly become essential listening for fans of clinically-precise shattered rhythm, complex programming, and gorgeous symphonic moments.

Tekniq - Shazbut! [HIV.09]

One of the most exciting surprises we recieved here at the Hive Control Facilities was an amazing demo from Canadian musician Mike Savelli, under the moniker Tekniq. The richness of the melodies and construction of the cut up beats, backed by an amazing sense of production made this demo stand out as something really special.

On his second release [the first album Compuglobalhypermeganet was released on Rudy Ratzinger's IDM/etc label Fliesskoma to much critical acclaim], Mike Savelli imparts even greater attention to the fluid soundtrack elements and hones the precision broken rhythms into microscopically engineered shimmering textures. This album has the unique ability to simultaneously challenge the attentive ear, and bliss-out the passing listener. Artwork by Dsplcr, Mastering by 5-25.

Prepare your ears. Release date : 06 / 30 / 2k4

djemptyx7:42am: Realization
Dauuuuuum, while i was muching on my egg mcmuffin im looking out the window facing the parking lot and what do i see?? ... Bird Lady and her EXTREMELY well-fed small wienner-like dog...I mean, I knew she had some cats but I did not know she had a fatass small dog. It looks like an overstuffed croissant -- this thing is fucking huge guys..this is definitely not something you would want in your lap.. not only is it fat but hell its odd in shape like a fat oblong corndog-looking dinner roll. Anyway, if this lady feeds everything in her home like she does these damn birds and this fatass dawg & cats I think we should stop buying groceries and just go knock on her door and be like,..."Hey you... ya got any eats in there??" and she would be like, "Oh veesitors! I love me some veesitors..Please come in and have some PIE!" and we would be like,.. "Hell ye that's what Im talkin about BIAAAAAAAATCh!"

anyway,...

djinsect12:46pm: Censor - Empire Holds Down [HIV.07]
CD (900 copies) and CD + 3" LTD edition album (100 copies)
release date: March 10 . 2k4

Censor has been a busy boy this year. After several remixes and collaborations [such as Panacea, Needle Sharing, Retnah, Manufactura, Larvae, DJ Hidden, Tekniq, Cdatakill and more], NYC's Censor is finally ready to open the floodgates with Empire Holds Down, his debut full length album on Hive Records.

In the studio, Censor has managed to meld the better elements of Drum and Bass, Industrial, Breakcore, Gabber, and Powernoise into a brilliant, malleable ore. With heavy emphasis on melody and orchestral moments, this album is firmly welded together with intricate pounding rhythm, equally appealing on the dancefloor and in the headphones.

The first 100 preorder of Empire Holds Down come with a 3", featuring a collaboration with Retnah [with whom Censor will be releasing a full-length split later this year on hive] and an ambient remix by Cdatakill.

Mastering for the album has been provided by Control Freak studios [C2], and the artwork is a collaboration between eye.lyft and insect aesthetic.

The limited edition of Empire Holds Down is only $15 postpaid in the USA, and can be ordered from the Hive Records website here:
